Weird in the ordinary

How aboot some weird and strange photos !?! I can help with that-hehe. Last week I went on safari to check out a catwalk that joins Cumberland Mall with the Cobb Galleria over highway 41 in metro Atlanta. Having driven under it for years, but never walked on it and seeing all the leading lines, I thought to myself-what a treat ! I think it will be part of the people moving labyrinth in the vicinity of Sun Trust Park in Atlanta.

This view is from the Cobb Galleria side looking into the sun over to Cumberland Mall. I used a lens distortion effect from Topaz Labs’ open public beta of Studio Effects. I like the TV border it gives the viewer.

I then went to the other side of the catwalk for a slighter longer exposure (.6 seconds) to get this view with the ceiling light detail blown out. I used the spherize filter in vertical mode in Photoshop to stretch out the image. Also trying out the Abstract filter from Topaz Studios. Gives it a slight painterly, pastel look. Sort of looks like a head trip in color 🙂

Finally with all these cool leading lines I wanted to reduce the scene to the bare elements, inspired by my friend Scott Norris, I went with a monochrome variant with Silver Efex Pro 2 and added some texturing from Topaz Impression.

This way

Stay tuned for more !
